ZEISS expands presence in Hungary
The technology group acquires the Hungarian ETEO Software Factory Kft.
With the acquisition of ETEO Software Factory Kft., a software development company based in Miskolc and Budapest (Hungary), ZEISS Digital Innovation (ZDI) is setting the course for further growth. The completely acquired Hungarian unit with over a hundred employees will operate as a subsidiary ZDI. It is planned that its team will continue to grow until the end of 2022: More than 50 new jobs are to be filled in Hungary alone. By this, ZEISS is further expanding its in-house know-how in software development.
ZDI is part of the ZEISS Digital Partners and specializes in developing customized software solutions, particularly for digitalization and cloud-based applications. The ETEO Software Factory Kft. has been closely linked and collaborated with ZDI for several years already. "The past years of successful collaboration have shown that we can work across borders and learn from each other," says Béla Farkas, Managing Director of ZDI Hungary. "Thanks to the integration of the Hungarian software specialists, the ZDI can implement the increasing number of digital projects for external customers as well as within the ZEISS Group and advance this with even greater innovative strength," adds Alfred Mönch, Managing Director of ZDI.
The use of digital technologies is a key part of the ZEISS strategy for the future. With the acquisition of the Hungarian software company, ZEISS is securing further competencies and development capacities for the realization of digital projects of strategic importance for the entire ZEISS Group. At the same time, ZEISS is expanding its presence in Hungary.
