Advantages through cooperation

The optical clear adhesives (OCA) from tesa are of great importance for holographic applications from ZEISS Microoptics. They offer excellent UV-blocking properties, high light transmission and low haze. Other key advantages include excellent temperature, moisture and UV resistance. These properties make the OCA materials ideal for applications in the mobility and hometech sectors for the integration of holographic products.

"Our cooperation with tesa is a prime example of how two visionary companies can drive significant innovation by combining their expertise," said Dr. Roman Kleindienst, Head of ZEISS Microoptics. "tesa’s OCA materials are of great importance to us in order to develop optimal holographic systems according to customer requirements. This allows us to create added value for our customer by directing light precisely where it is needed."

Joint innovative strength for the future

The partnership between ZEISS Microoptics and tesa is based on a mutual interest in disruptive innovation and a long-term commitment to the future. Both companies benefit from fast and flexible development processes made possible by the combination of their respective competencies. Close cooperation and the exchange of know-how, personnel and materials can accelerate product development and drive innovative solutions to market maturity.

"The intensive collaboration with ZEISS Microoptics is a strategically important step for us. We’ve been working on optically clear adhesive solutions for many years, particularly for the automotive and electronics industries. This cooperation now enables us to take further steps and play a key role in shaping the market for modern holographic solutions," explained Dr. Ingrid Sebald, Board Member Technology at tesa. "Our OCA tapes are key to seamlessly integrating ZEISS’ innovative optical systems and enabling breakthrough applications in the mobility and hometech industries."

New perspectives for mobility and hometech

The successful collaboration over the past two years has also paved the way for further innovative projects. ZEISS develops transparent displays for front and side windows as well as head-up displays (HUDs) in the automotive sector. The OCA solutions from tesa are particularly suitable for these applications due to their transparency and adhesive properties. New application possibilities, including solutions for energy harvesting, are also being jointly evaluated in the hometech sector.

Through continuous support and the joint pursuit of excellence, ZEISS and tesa are setting new standards in the rapidly developing market for holography solutions and creating added value for customers with their innovations.
