The new site in Dublin, California is an integral part of ZEISS' global investment strategy and is one element in a string of international projects aimed at expanding, modernizing and realigning sites that ZEISS has been implementing in locations such as Germany, Europe and Asia since 2011.

“Our investments are focused on leveraging the existing potential in our growth markets,” explains Dr. Christian Mueller, Member of the Executive Board and CFO of the ZEISS Group. “As a global technology leader, we need an even stronger presence and better networking at the innovation hotspots.”

The new center will encompass 208,650 square feet with three floors. It is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2020 and will bring together multiple ZEISS segments under one roof to create a place for up to 700 workspaces.

Dublin will serve as the US headquarters for ZEISS Medical Technology, with ZEISS Industrial Quality & Research and ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology also being located there. The facility will feature customer experience centers for Medical Technology and Microscopy, along with digital training rooms for employees and customers to thrive and to bring customers the best solutions to meet their needs.

To continue fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of innovation that is at ZEISS’ core, the Dublin high tech site is devoted to developing innovations that shape our world now and in the future in the San Francisco Bay Area, a vibrant center of technology.

It is located on 13.5 acres, near the I-580 and I-680 interchange and within walking distance of two BART stations with access to San Francisco and Oakland. The facility will be built according to sustainable principles.

ZEISS North America has facilities in both the US and Canada with offices located on the West Coast, East Coast and in the Central geographies employing over 3,200 people.
