Use of fluorescence in neurovascular procedures aided by Robotic Visualization System
In this recorded webinar, neurosurgeons Michael Lawton, MD (starting at minute 00:44), Gary Steinberg, MD, PhD (starting at minute 17:50) and Jonathan Russin, MD (starting at minute 34:07) show how they use fluorescence-guided microsurgical techniques for neurovascular procedures.
Samples presented include complex cerebrovascular surgery on aneurysm, AMV, bypass, and moyamoya cases. The panelists show the value of intraoperative fluorescence technologies using indocyanine green (ICG) and fluorescein in microsurgical treatment of these cases. Additionally, intra-operative cerebral blood flow assessment with the help of summary maps and diagrams is addressed. In this context, the question is discussed, whether intraoperative perfusion data might help to quantitatively predict post-operative stroke rise.
