OBERKOCHEN/Germany, STUTTGART/Germany | 06 May 2019 | ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions
In keeping with the theme "Connect to Productivity," ZEISS will present selected solutions, including eMobility and destruction-free quality assurance with the ZEISS X-ray Series, at the Control trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany, from 7 through 10 May 2019. This event will also provide an opportunity to look back at 100 years of company history.
"We are proud to celebrate 100 years of ZEISS measuring technology. Yet 100 years are just the beginning because our goal today and in the future is to be a driving force by offering solutions for the most demanding quality assurance jobs," says Dr. Jochen Peter, Member of the Executive Board of the ZEISS Group and Head of the Research and Quality Technology segment. This includes seamless connectivity between measuring technology machine parks located throughout the world, application-oriented quality assurance solutions for production and the need for versatile quality assurance technologies from a single source. "We will be presenting all this to our customers. However, we are also marking this important anniversary because our past has laid the foundation for a successful future," says Peter.
ZEISS: setting quality standards since 1919
ZEISS first presented measuring instruments at the Spring Trade Show in Leipzig back in 1919. This was the beginning of a success story that continued in 1926 when ZEISS launched a true technological innovation: the first universal measuring microscope. For the first time, the device enabled the user to assess all five parameters of a thread without reclamping. In the 1970s, ZEISS achieved another technological breakthrough: the rollout of a universal measuring machine (ZEISS UMM 500) with a measuring probe, integrated desktop computer from HP and the company's own measuring software, UMESS. Since being renamed Industrielle Messtechnik (Industrial Measuring Technology) in 1977, the company has continued to increase its competitive edge when it comes to precision.
Today, ZEISS is a global market leader in the area of CNC coordinate measuring machines and draws on its decades of experience to offer a range of measuring machines, software and accessories. ZEISS' aim is to increase its customers' productivity in the quality lab and beyond through its networked portfolio of hardware, software and digital industrial quality solutions.
"We would like to thank our customers for their trust and loyalty over the past 100 years and are looking forward to increasing their productivity in the future as well," says Peter.
