Intelligent measurement technology for automotive production

Quality controls from development to series production

In the automotive industry, ZEISS measurement technology is used throughout the entire development process of a new vehicle. Measurement data provides information on material characteristics and component behavior in product development. The results have an influence on simulation and design. In increasingly automated quality control, geometry acquisition forms the data basis for the inspection of molds and tools, cast, plastic and sheet metal parts as well as assemblies and entire car bodies.

ZEISS eMobility Solutions

The development and market launch of new energy vehicles (NEVs) is accelerating worldwide. Because the design of electric power trains differs significantly from internal combustion engine vehicles, manufacturers and suppliers in the industry must reinvent themselves. ZEISS supports OEMs and suppliers worldwide with more than 50 specific solutions for quality assurance in the field of e-mobility. The wide range of imaging, analytical and metrological instruments is constantly being expanded with new solutions, including inline and software.

Additive manufacturing

Automotive manufacturers are turning to additive manufacturing to increase production efficiency, customize parts and achieve a faster time to market. However, these advantages can only be utilized if the required quality is guaranteed: From in-process and post-print powder bed analysis to prototype analysis and complete first article inspection.

Metal forming

ZEISS measurement technology is used in stamping, bending, drawing, pressing and forming process chains for end-to-end quality assurance: It is used to determine material characteristics. It helps to optimize the design and simulation of components and tools. It speeds up tool try-out and first article inspection. In addition, multidimensional measuring systems ensure efficient production control and assembly analysis during series production.

Plastics production

ZEISS measuring systems and software solutions are used throughout the entire process chain in the plastics industry. Customers benefit from more efficient processes, more accurate measurements, fewer iteration loops and significant time savings.

If defective parts occur during plastic production, this results in additional work - often associated with considerable costs. This makes meticulous quality management all the more important.
