Tool Correction Based On Optical Measurement Data
The challenge
Tool try-out is all about iteratively producing a finished tool as quickly as possible. A tool that will, in a complex interaction of material, tool and press machine, produce parts that meet the design requirements precisely.
The solution
By digitizing the tool and the try-out parts using an ATOS system, the user is able to obtain correction values. He can use these values for revising the design as well as for specific adjustment of the tool.
This information tells him where the part deviates in its geometries from the CAD model and where these deviations become too large. They help him to analyze the springback and to precisely determine its compensation. They also provide data on how to adapt the hole pattern and trimming.
