ZEISS ScanBox Series 5 RC (Remote Control) is an optical measuring machine with a motorized sliding door. With a robot or a customized loading system, you automatically load parts such as airfoils, attached parts or tools into ZEISS ScanBox Series 5 RC and place them on the rotation table module. As the user does not have to place the individual parts, the time required for quality assurance is significantly shorter than before.

Automation technology with a magazine loading system

Integrating a magazine loading system increases cycle times and reduces the staff requirement – the system measures autonomously for up to 11 hours. The magazine loading system is manually stacked with part batches such as turbine blades. Each fixture is labeled with a unique RFID chip for identification. Based on its information, the suitable measuring program is automatically selected. After the inspection, the part is automatically returned.

Virtual Measuring Room in the 3D Metrology Software

Virtual Measuring Room in ZEISS INSPECT

The Virtual Measuring Room (VMR) is the central control and measurement planning software for all elements of the optical 3D measuring machines. It represents the real environment in a virtual simulation. The VMR consists of a robot with one sensor, the programming, including the kinematics of the robot paths, the part and the measurement plan. Thanks to the VMR, the user does not need any special robot skills. All robot movements are simulated in the Virtual Measuring Room before execution and checked for safety.
