ZEISS RDS

Reaches almost all room angles via numerous individual positions

The ZEISS RDS articulating system is particularly suitable for measuring complex workpieces whose features require many probes with different spatial directions. It reaches up to 20,736 positions in 2.5 degree increments – and therefore provides access to every feature of a workpiece. This is based on horizontally and vertically arranged rotation axes with rotation ranges of +/- 180°. ZEISS RDS is available for various bridge-type, horizontal arm and gantry CMMs from ZEISS.

With ZEISS RDS-CAA for switching and measuring probes, the user also achieves shorter calibration times: only a few angular positions or spatial directions need to be calibrated. During programming, the RDS is simply positioned using the joystick on the control panel, resulting in short programming times.

The highly dynamic continuous articulating system DSC raises the performance of ZEISS CALENO to a new level. This probe carrier is characterized by outstanding angular speed, maximum acceleration and uncompromised safety thanks to integrated collision protection.

Highly dynamic articulating system for a wide range of measuring tasks

Thanks to its high dynamics, high torque and excellent precision, ZEISS DSC can be used for a wide range of measuring tasks. The probe carrier is equipped with spring-loaded collision protection for the probe as standard – additional collision protection for the probe carrier itself is also optionally available.

  • Rotation axis A can be rotated n x 360
  • Up to 180°/s angular speed
  • High torque with max. 3.0 Nm
  • Suitable for up to 800 mm stylus extensions
  • Automatic change of optical and tactile probes with passive stylus system changer rack

ZEISS Articulating Stylus (ZAS)

ZAS is a motor-driven, software-controlled articulating stylus that can be swiveled in a plane, replacing several configurations with fixed styli. This enables different angular positions without changing the stylus.

ZEISS Articulating Stylus is compatible with the high-performance ZEISS VAST gold probe head and achieves a high degree of accuracy thanks to the stability of the articulating stylus. The respective angular position can be set in just a few seconds, saving both time and storage space for additional stylus systems. The angular positions are continuously adjustable between -135° and +135°.
