Important Announcement

Microsoft has publicly announced the end of support for Windows 10, effective October 14, 2025. However, this announcement does not apply to the versions of Windows 10 utilized on ZEISS Workstations that control LM, EM, and XRM microscopes and systems.

At ZEISS, we utilize the Enterprise versions of Windows 10 from the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) to take advantage of Microsoft's extended lifecycle policy.

For all LM, EM, and XRM microscopes and systems currently supported by ZEISS, validated workstations are available that come pre-installed with or can be upgraded to either of the following two versions:

· Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 (Microsoft’s End of Support: January 9, 2029)

· Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (Microsoft’s End of Support: January 13, 2032)

Additionally, ZEISS will begin shipping workstations with Windows 11 pre-installed starting in Summer 2025.

For a selection of currently installed ZEISS Workstations, upgrades to Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024 (Microsoft’s End of Support: October 10, 2034) will be available thereafter.
