Abstract: Spatial biology is evolving rapidly from primary research to routine application, with an increasing focus on workflow efficiency, result accuracy, and reproducibility. Multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF) stands out as a powerful tool to characterize multi-parametric disease processes within the tumor microenvironment (TME). Despite its high potential, implementing mIF protocols for routine research can be logistically challenging: mIF staining protocols are more complex than traditional chromogenic staining protocols and must overcome significant variability intrinsic to tissue samples. This obstacle is usually addressed by manual image acquisition processes which are time-consuming and introduce additional sources of variability preventing comparability of results.

Abstract: The use of complex in vitro models is becoming increasingly important in drug discovery, as they provide more accurate representations of biological systems. This poster explores the integration of advanced microscopy techniques for high-content screening with artificial intelligence (AI) for the segmentation and classification of cellular objects. Our approach focuses on scalable and parallelized analyses, allowing for the efficient evaluation of multi-well plates. By leveraging these innovative methods, we aim to enhance the drug discovery process, improve data analysis speed, and support the identification of promising therapeutic candidates. This work underscores the potential of combining microscopy and AI to advance in vitro modeling in drug development.
