Learning Imaging Pattern of Aging with Semi Supervised Foundation Modeling
Presented by: Valentina Pedoia, PhD, Altos Labs
Microscopy imaging has long been complementary to other omics, but these approaches are now converging. On the one hand, omics moved from in vitro methods that average across large cell populations to in situ molecular characterization tools with single-cell sensitivity. On the other hand, microscopy imaging has moved from a morphological description of tissues and cells to quantitative and fully automatic molecular profiling with single-molecule resolution. Recent technological developments underpinned by AI-powered computational methods have started to blur the lines between imaging and omics and have made their direct correlation and seamless integration an exciting possibility. This will allow us to create comprehensive molecular profiles of living systems with spatial and temporal context and subcellular resolution. Technological developments in AI-powered microscopy have the potential to shape our science spanning from mechanistic discovery of fundamental biological processes up to functional and behavioral analysis on living organisms and eventually in humans. In this talk we will discuss the recent advances in AI for a quantitative and reliable characterization of biological processes at scale using Imaging.

Introducing ZEISS Apotome Plus- Taking Widefield Microscopy to the Next Level with Resolution Down to 180nm
Presented by: Dr. Martin Gleisner, Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH
With the NEW Apotome Plus on your widefield microscope, effortlessly capture all your data from fast overview scans to small details in 3D morphology. Achieve crisp confocal like images using this hardware and software-based approach. Apotome Plus removes out of focus light which is obscuring your sample details to give exceptional improvements in resolution, signal to noise ratio (SNR) and optical sectioning quality of 3D data. Advanced processing algorithms simultaneously incorporate point spread function (PSF) and structured illumination information for a smart and streamlined approach to widefield optical sectioning. This offers a simple answer to resolving fine structures with lateral resolution down to 180nm. No lasers or user expertise necessary. Apotome Plus on your compound microscope, results in a solution with all the high-speed advantages of widefield and the image quality you expect from a confocal.
