Wavefront refraction – and beyond

Precise refraction forms the foundation of premium vision care, which is why ZEISS VISUREF 600 utilises ZEISS-adopted advanced ocular wavefront technology to measure and analyze the irregularities of the eye, providing valuable information for diagnosing and correcting vision problems.

The wavefront refraction is complemented by a variety of measurement capabilities that go beyond refraction results to provide a comprehensive view of the optical condition of the eye:

  • Keratometry
  • Monocular Visual Acuity
  • Opacity
  • Colour View
  • Pupillometry and White-to-White (WTW)
  • Tear Film Break-up Time
  • Meibomian Gland Assessment
Wavefront refraction – and beyond

Refraction, Keratometry and Visual Acuity

With the VISUREF 600 you get a comprehensive overview of refraction values, Central and peripheral measurements of the corneal curvature and monocular Visual Acuity values for in standard, near view, low light and glare conditions.

Refraction Insights

The analysis of the collected data allows for the calculation of the refraction of the eyes with the relevant sphere, cylinder, and axis, and the identification of higher-order aberrations with Zernike polynomials.

Color View

With the image taken for color view several tasks can be performed according to the needs of the examiner

  • Record an overview of the anterior eye
  • Checking on small blood vessels
  • Measuring the rotation angle of a toric soft contact lens
  • Measuring the size of a structure visible in the picture

Pupillometry and White-to-White

The black-and-white images taken in Pupillometry and WTW can be used to determine the pupil size and the corneal size.

Tear Film Break-up Time

The Tear film break-up time measurement can support evaluating the stability and quality of the tear film.

Meibomian Gland Assessment

An image of Meibomian Glands for assessment of their function and structure can be taken. For better visibility of the Meibomian Glands, a filter can be applied in VISUREF 600.

Differentiation through customization

VISUREF 600 is more than just an autorefractor. It enables you to extend your service offering to give your customers the personalised care and individual solutions they want and need.

  • Individualised i.Scription lenses by ZEISS

With i.Scription Technology you can create a personal vision fingerprint to offer each patient a unique lens solution with improved vision, day and night. The individualized lenses based on wavefront enhance and improve your patient’s vision by considering the impact of low and high-order aberrations.

Available as an add-on for all ZEISS branded lenses

  • Dry eye screening

Dry eye is a common condition that affects a significant number of people. There are different types of dry eye, which can be classified based on the underlying cause or contributing factors.
By identifying the underlying cause of dry eye, you can develop an appropriate and individual treatment plan to alleviate

  • Soft contact lens fitting

VISUREF 600 provides a variety of measurements that support offering, fitting, and personalising the recommendations for soft contact lenses to the patient’s specific needs. Additionally, the measurement results can support identifying underlying eye conditions or issues that may be affecting the patient’s ability to wear contact lenses, allowing for early intervention and treatment.

Increased Efficiency

Customisable Workflow Wizards for a smooth and efficient measurement flow.

VISUREF 600 not only enables additional services for your store – it also supports you by providing them smoothly and efficiently. The customisable workflow wizards (specially integrated measurement assistants) will guide you through the steps for each application:

  • Eye exam
  • Spectacles
  • Contact lenses
  • Dry eye

Each assistant features a standard workflow sequence with mandatory steps. The assistants can also be configured according to your practice workflow or individual preferences.

Seamless integration into the ZEISS ecosystem

ZEISS VISUREF 600 can be seamlessly integrated into the ZEISS ecosystem for a more efficient and less error-prone workflow. This will save time and ensure that your data is always accurate and up to date. Say goodbye to tedious management tasks and hello to a more streamlined and enjoyable consultation process.

  • Connected to ZEISS VISUCONSULT 500
  • Easy connectivity to ZEISS-supported patient management systems
  • Full connectivity to the ZEISS medical ecosystem with ZEISS Forum

Did you know?

  • 85 %

of customers say that individual treatment is a key driver for them.

  • 95 %

of wearers prefer lenses optimised with i.Scription® technology by ZEISS versus ZEISS freeform lenses without i.Scription.

  • 1/100

i.Scription technology fine-tunes the refraction to 1/100th of a diopter.

Features and Details

Light Shield (optional)

The light shield gives you more flexibility in setting up your device. If light conditions are not ideal, the shield can easily be attached to the device.

Thermal Printer

Measurement results can easily be printed with the integrated thermal printer if the device is used in a stand-alone mode and not connected to the ZEISS ecosystem.

Earthrise Target

The fixation target in VISUREF® 600 is the iconic “Earthrise” image taken on December 24, 1968, showing the Earth rising over the lunar horizon. The lens used to capture this image was a ZEISS Biogon ƒ/5.6/38mm, chosen for its high optical performance and compact size.

Joystick with auto-tracking

The device is easily positioned in front of the patient’s eye with a joystick. Once in position, the device automatically starts the refraction measurement thanks to integrated auto-tracking.

Tiltable Screen

The device is controlled via a touchscreen that can be swivelled for easy operation and optimal placement in your practice set-up.
