Our innovative CleanGuard™ technology makes lenses with ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV water- and oil-repellent. It also adds anti-static properties. Thanks to this three-in-one innovation, your customers can clean their lenses up to three times faster.1

CleanGuardTM technology features an increased contact angle of up to 73° for substances with very high surface attraction, like oil and grease. This makes the lenses more repellent – so they’re easier to clean and stay cleaner for longer.

It’s a fact: 95% of consumers agree that lenses with CleanGuardTM are more water-repellent.4 With a contact angle of up to 117° for water, the technology ensures that raindrops bead up and roll off lenses with ease.

Our patented ultra-thin anti-static layer helps keep dust and dirt from sticking to the lens surface. This neutralizes any static electric load that might occur while wearing or cleaning the lenses.

Exceptional durability.

In our 80 years of expertise in crafting lens coatings, DuraVision® Gold UV is the most scratch-resistant of them. We use a thermally-cured hard coat to improve stability with the AR coating. The hard coat then undergoes ion bombardment to enhance adhesion. Multiple ultra-thin layers of metal and ceramic oxides are then deposited to create very densely packed layers – for superior scratch resistance.

ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV surpassed expectations with an impressive average Bayer ratio of 16 – the industry standard for evaluating scratch resistance. A ratio above 10 is considered a very high rating.3

Crystal-clear clarity.

DuraVision® Gold UV reduces residual reflections in low light conditions between twilight and night time when eye sensitivity shifts to shorter wavelengths – enhancing light transmittance for clearer vision.

Despite the golden-yellow reflex on the lens surface, lenses with DuraVision® Gold UV measure up to six times less yellow colour – for a more accurate, colour-neutral view. The coating ensures more clarity by greatly reducing blue light reflections in the 380-500nm spectrum compared to DuraVision® Platinum UV and Chrome UV.
