ZEISS Adds 15x56 to CONQUEST HDX Premium Line of Binoculars for Long-Range Hunting and Precision Rifle Shooting Competition

Oberkochen, Germany | 14 January 2025 | ZEISS Consumer Products

The ZEISS Conquest HDX family of binoculars, introduced in early 2024, delivers an exceptional level of professional-grade optical performance at an attractive price. Now introducing two new models – the HDX 15x56 and the HDX LRP 15x56 premium binoculars. The MRAD reticle in the HDX LRP model was designed for competitors, allowing them to gain valuable points and maximize their overall scoring potential at each stage of precision rifle shooting competitions.

All ZEISS Conquest HDX binoculars, offered with 32mm, 42mm or 56mm objectives at a choice of 8x or 10x magnification (15x in the 56mm model), provide true 90% light transmission to the eyes and brilliant, sharp HD images. They incorporate some of the most sophisticated optical technology available, such as ZEISS FieldFlattener Technology that ensures high resolution from edge- to-edge. Proprietary ZEISS T* lens coatings guarantee clear, accurate color rendition and contrast, aid in maximum light transmission, and are so advanced that they are actually tailored to each individual lens.

There are no compromises in construction. The Conquest HDX housings are rugged lightweight magnesium, providing durability and reliability over a lifetime of use—far exceeding the capabilities of commonly used lesser materials. They have been extensively tested from extreme heat to bitter cold, proving their anti-fogging capability. No detail is overlooked, down to the non-slip micro-texture surface applied to the HDX armored coating. The larger Abbe-Koenig prism allows for more complete, more efficient light transmission compared to ordinary binoculars. They are an ergonomic joy to use; for example, the entire focus range can be accessed in a mere 1.3 turns of the focusing wheel. Comfortable and adjustable eyecups remove easily for cleaning.

The result is a binocular that vastly reduces eye fatigue and is supremely reliable and comfortable in any environment. The HDX series will realistically provide an additional 20 to 30 minutes of effective viewing at first and last light.

The all-new ZEISS Conquest HDX LRP 15x56—the “LRP” standing for “Long-Range Precision”— is a highly specialized optic within the HDX series developed specifically to allow competitors in the Precision Rifle Series (PRS) and National Rifle League (NRL 22 and NRL Hunter) communities to perform at the highest levels.

Developed from the ground up with input from accomplished competitors, the Conquest HDX LRP 15x56 incorporates a highly intuitive, “smart” integrated milliradian reticle that allows the shooter to easily assess and determine accurate leads for moving targets and evaluate down-range bullet impact on or off target to determine the best wind calls possible. This results in a far greater advantage and a higher degree of confidence prior to engaging the stage, further ensuring maximum point gains over the course of fire.

Unlike most competitive binoculars that have tried to incorporate such technology, the Conquest HDX LRP 15x56 reticle—a combination of T-style and tree style designs with a floating center dot—will be instantly familiar to competition shooters. It interfaces naturally and comfortably with what the shooter sees in their riflescope—especially so with ZEISS LRP riflescopes, eliminating confusion and the loss of valuable time. The ZEISS reticle design presents a near-perfect balance of reference marks and line thickness.

The precise low-center placement of the LRP reticle was determined only after exhaustive research, consultation and testing. It avoids the eyestrain, curvature distortion and frustrating interpretation that can result from less intuitive reticle designs and awkward placements.

A reticle must, of course, be level for maximum accuracy. After adjusting the binocular to the user’s eyes, a clever leveler adjustment, located at the top of the left ocular, provides a fast and simple solution to maintaining a level reticle.

Also unique to the HDX LRP version are two locking diopter adjustments. One allows for razor-sharp focusing of the reticle. The second allows for an overall sharply focused image of the entire field of view. These adjustments are specific to the individual user’s eyes but are easily changed when necessary.

A high-quality tripod is generally essential for effective use of high-magnification binoculars during competition. The Conquest HDX LRP 15x56 incorporates a 1/4-20 tripod adapter port that allows easy installation of the standard Arca-Swiss tripod adapter—also included with the HDX LRP.

The bottom line is a binocular that provides a huge advantage in the field at any PRS and NRL-style competition or one that calls for a spotter and shooter combination. The HDX LRP is a win/win for professional shooters; the entire Conquest HDX series is a win/win for anyone who simply wants to move up to the exceptional ZEISS viewing experience.

The Conquest HDX 15x56 has a retail price of €1.700 and is available to purchase now. The HDX LRP version – with MRAD reticle, will be available in mid-February with a retail price of €2.000.
