ZEISS Loxia Lenses
Light and inconspicuous – the ZEISS Loxia Lenses are optimally suited to video recordings: their compact size enables the cinematographer to work unobtrusively from various angles and thus avoid disrupting the scenery. This makes them the perfect companion for documentaries and high-quality reports.
The ZEISS Loxia lenses are small, robust and made of metal. Nevertheless, they offer exceptional image quality. The focus ring has a rotation angle of 180°, which enables fine focusing on the subject. A harmonious bokeh and the full-frame coverage are the ideal complements to the ZEISS Loxia lenses.
ZEISS Lens Gear
ZEISS Lens Gears make ZEISS Otus, ZEISS Milvus and ZEISS Loxia lenses a proper cine-style lens for professional filmmakers. The ZEISS Lens Gears are available in four different sizes: mini, small, medium and large.
They are supplied with a rubbercovered band, the GumGum, which features an adhesive surface. This means the inner diameter can be reduced according to the lens diameter, thus supporting multiple lenses. The GumGum also protects against scratches and other damage to the focus ring of the lens.
Optimized for high-res sensors
The lenses offer a high resolution across the entire image field and — especially at the maximal aperture opening of f/2 — a harmonious bokeh in the background. ZEISS Loxia lenses are suitable for digital Sony Alpha cameras and have been optimized for film and sensors up to full 35 mm format (24 x 36 mm).
Compact, lightweight design
While the overall length of the different Loxia lenses might vary, the front diameter is consistent for all three focal lengths in the family. This results in a small, handy system solution ideal for documentary work, events or any shooting situation where the camera should not be the center of attention.
Ideal for videography
Thanks to the iris de-click feature and super-smooth manual focusing are the perfect tool for demanding videographers. The completely new feature of the Loxia lens is that you can ‘declick’ the aperture’s locking mechanism using a tool (supplied) and an adjustment screw on the bayonet surface. This means that for video applications, you can smoothly eliminate any unwanted differences in brightness as you pan the camera.
