Field Service Engineer
I don’t really have a typical workday, that’s what makes this job so great. One week I could be at home helping customers in the El Paso area, the next week I could be on the road. Whether at home or on the road, we’re supplied with the right tools to make our needs easier — ZEISS takes care of its employees.
My job is not just about fixing some machine. It is about ensuring the perfect use of a medical instrument.
Quality is the first word that comes to my mind when I think of ZEISS. We have an outstanding reputation for quality instruments. We are the leader in our industry, and are committed to it. Every employee wants to see a company committed to its success, providing a quality product to its customers, and taking care of their employees.
ZEISS produces quality products that the medical industry can depend on. It’s a device that is used to help save lives.
When I first started with the company, it was clear that my job wasn’t just to fix some machine, it was to make sure I fix a medical instrument. In a sense, I contribute to the wellbeing of patients – that is amazing!
I have been stopped on multiple occasions and been asked about the company, its products and its facilities around the world. Once, a young man came up to me to tell me he was an avid photographer, and a fan of ZEISS products – and how much of a difference he can see versus the competition. He told me he was working his way through college, and wanted to work for ZEISS when he graduates. It feels good to be part of something so special.
I contribute to the wellbeing of patients — that is amazing!
A lot of the company’s workforce has been with the company for many, many years.
ZEISS Service has made a tremendous effort to hire and train quality Field Engineers over the past few years. Many new hires were required to fulfil customer service needs more efficiently.
But I have noticed that a lot of the company’s workforce has been with the company for many, many years. That says a lot about how ZEISS treats its family of employees.
